| Mission |
Our mission is to provide choral music programs which enable adolescents to use their developing voices in experiences of
musical excellence through vocal techniques appropriate to the changing voice. Through an educational outreach program,
these techniques are available to choral music educators to incorporate into their work with the adolescent voice.
Singing is a tremendously positive influence on the lives of teens.* Unfortunately, when the emotional and physical changes
of the teenage years coincide with the changing voice, many young people quit singing forever. Northern Pines has created
three programs for young men and women at this critical stage of their musical development.
*Research conducted by the SEARCH Foundation in the Twin Cities, documents that participation in a musical activity ranked
number one in a list of 50 factors that influence teenagers and keep them from being "at-risk".
